The Big Texan opened its doors in 1960 alongside old Route 66 in Amarillo. In 1970 a new one was built alongside I-40. It is the proud home of nationally known 72 oz Steak. The Texan is locally owned and operated, and is THE first class Texas style steakhouse. The Texan's goal is to satisfy the worlds hunger for great steaks and the amibance of the Old West.
